Just a place to put random thoughts down from time to time...
Or: just go on vacation from September 1 to December 1

So it's hurricane season here in lovely Florida. Since August 13th, there have been three storms in rapid succession to see which one can be the biggest thing going. So far I think Charley has won, hands down. We "survived" Charley in that we were at home at the time it made that freaky last minute directional change and slammed up into Charlotte Harbor. which is roughly 40 minutes from where I am sitting typing this. Power went out at 4:15 on Friday the 13th of August and did not come back on until 9 p.m. Sunday the 15th of August. That's over 50 hours without AC, TV and oh dear god the internet connection (it's satellite I can never decide if that's spelled correctly).

Then Frances roared up and just like a woman tried to be better than the man. Luckily she went north of us and all we had was wind and rain.

Now Ivan is stalking the same track that Charley did, but right now the NHC (national hurriane center) has him way west of this coast, so let's hope that continues shall we? Because I can't take another Saturday of Sonny's BBQ being closed because of a hurricane. And don't even get me started on Home Depot closing the freaking garden center "just in case". Let's make everyone stand in line to get in the freaking store but not put a sign up that 1/2 the place is closed..."just in case". Bite me Home Depot.
